Here’s who you will be watching in Dundee Rep’s vivid reimagining of Tennessee Williams’ classic

The cast and creative team have been announced for the Scottish tour of The Glass Menagerie, a major new production of Tennessee Williams’ breakthrough masterpiece from Dundee Rep.

The production, which will preview and open at Dundee Rep Theatre from 27 September to 18 October 2025, before touring to Citizens Theatre, Glasgow, from 21 to 25 October, and Edinburgh’s Royal Lyceum from 4 to 8 November, follows the story of Tom Wingfield, who finds himself trapped in a stifling job and burdened with responsibility for his formidable mother, Amanda, and his painfully shy sister, Laura. When Tom invites a colleague to dinner, Amanda seizes the chance to shape Laura’s future happiness. As hopes rise, family tensions mount, and the fragility of their world threatens to shatter.

Following the success of Make It Happen, a co-production between Dundee Rep Theatre, the National Theatre of Scotland and Edinburgh International Festival, The Glass Menagerie marks the next ambitious project from Dundee Rep Theatre, offering Scottish audiences a vivid and gripping reimagining of Williams’ classic.

The cast comprises Amy Conachan as Laura Wingfield, Christopher Jordan-Marshall as Tom Wingfield, Declan Spaine as Jim O’Connor and Sara Stewart, whose West End credits include Enron, The Price and Harry Potter & the Cursed Child, as Amanda Wingfield.

The creative team brings together set and costume designer Emily James, lighting designer Simon Wilkinson, composer and sound designer Reuben Joseph, movement director Emily Jane Boyle, director Andrew Panton with Fraser Scott as associate director.

Panton says, “I’m incredibly excited to work with this extraordinary cast and creative team. Reviving this classic work, a play I’ve wanted to direct for years, allows us to explore its timeless themes and create a new production that I hope will move, inspire and resonate with audiences.”
