A local twist on the classic tale at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch finds Robin Hood riding off into the Forest of Havering for an adventure packed with mischief, music and magic this panto season.

Written by Kate Lovell and James Watson, with original music and lyrics by Andrew Linham and direction by Kash Arshad, Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch’s flagship family pantomime returns with a new adaptation of Robin Hood, running from 18 November 2026 to 2 January 2027.

In the Forest of Havering, Robin Hood with his Merry Band beside him and the brilliant, brave Maid Marian leading the charge, is ready to outwit the greedy Sheriff. The cheeky outlaws must rely on daring tricks, quick thinking and a little help from the audience to outwit their dastardly foe, with plenty of mishaps and mischief along the way. With catchy songs and all the ingredients of a festive pantomime, this local twist on a classic tale is packed with heroes to cheer, villains to boo, and more surprises than you can shake an arrow at.

Folarin Akinmade’s Robin Hood is joined by side-kick Cyril the Squirrel, played by Lauren Chinery returning to the Queen’s Theatre having played Pat the Cow in 2025’s Jack and the Beanstalk, and Buttons in 2024’s Cinderella.

Further casting includes Killian Macardle as Nanny Molly Coddle, Verity Bajoria as Maid Marian, Tom Vercnocke as the Sheriff of Havering and Elizabeth Ellen as Ellen-a-Dale.

Also returning are Georgia Leila Stoller and Megan Ashley as Dave The Intern and Tucky respectively, both previously appeared in Jack And The Beanstalk. The cast is completed by Perry Meadowcroft as Little John.

Director Kash Arshad says, “This is a wonderful cast, we have found not only the crème de la crème of actor musician talent, both locally and nationally, they are all joyful, silly, hilarious and have that all important pantomime sparkle that makes a Hornchurch Panto. They will bring so much fun and laughter and delight to the much-loved story of Robin Hood. Audiences are in for a real treat.”

Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, a vibrant producing theatre serving Outer East London and South Essex is a three-year winner of UK Theatre’s Most Welcoming Theatre, entertaining more than 106,000 audience members each year. Suitable for all ages, the running time of Robin Hood is 2 hours 20 minutes, including interval.
